The Stavanger-region Chamber of Commerce is a continuation of the
Stavanger Business Song Association; founded in 1896. The purpose at the
time was to learn how to sing songs such as "lettede Sindet". After
many interruptions, the contemporary choir was formed in 1920. The goal
is to teach members how to sing in a choir, promote male songs,
comradeship, and a collegial spirit. The choir sings a capella, meaning
without any instruments.
